Sunlit Pachedi Pillow
This item ships in 1–2 business days.
Desert Loom Meets Unapologetic Light
This cushion sings in the language of light. Against a sun-drenched field, jewel-toned diamonds emerge from the fabric’s core – woven in, never embroidered or printed.
The blend of organic cotton and raw silk creates a tactile dialogue: cotton’s honest texture holds silk’s liquid luminosity. For 500 years, these same geometric patterns adorned nomadic herders against arid sands; today, they carry that resilience into spaces craving warmth.

The Piece
It's handwoven from cotton by the weavers of Bhujodi, in the Kutch region of Gujarat, using a traditional extra-weft technique where the motifs are woven directly into the cloth — never printed on. The result is a cushion with real texture, soft natural character, and the subtle irregularity of true handweaving: an understated, tactile piece that brings warmth and craft to a sofa, bed, or chair.
Handwoven cotton. Its natural fibre gives the cushion a soft, breathable, lived-in quality and an earthy texture quite distinct from smooth machine-made fabric.
Yes — both faces are finished and display-ready, giving two looks in one piece. This reflects the quality of the handweaving rather than a mass-production shortcut.
Craft & Heritage
Yes, entirely. It's handwoven on a traditional pit loom, with the patterns built into the weave by hand using extra weft threads — a slow, skilled process with nothing printed or machine-applied.
It's woven in Bhujodi, a renowned weaving village in the Kutch region of Gujarat, India. Bhujodi is home to the Vankar community of weavers, whose handloom tradition goes back many generations and is celebrated across India.
The Bhujodi weavers of Kutch are the same community whose Kachchh Shawls hold a Geographical Indication (GI) under Indian law — a mark of their recognised, region-specific craft. This cushion is woven by that tradition using the same handloom skills, bringing a piece of a living weaving heritage into your home.
Look at the texture and the back: genuine handwoven Bhujodi cloth has slight, natural irregularities in the weave, and the motifs are constructed into both sides of the fabric rather than printed on one face. The small variations are the signature of the hand and loom behind it.
Care & Gifting
Gentle dry cleaning is safest for handwoven textiles, to preserve the weave and colours. If washing, use cold water on a gentle cycle or hand-wash, and dry flat away from direct sunlight. A little natural softening with age is normal and part of the charm.
Each piece is handwoven individually, so slight natural variations make every one unique, and they're produced in small quantities rather than mass runs.
It makes a warm, characterful one. Handwoven by a celebrated weaving community, it's both genuinely beautiful and rooted in a living craft tradition — an everyday luxury that brings texture and story to a home. It ships within 24 hours, arrives gift-ready, and is delivered with duties fully covered for recipients in the US and Canada.
