About Home & the World

Home & the World is a Toronto-based curator of exceptional heritage crafts, bridging the gap between global master artisans and modern design.
We commission handcrafted objects from artisan communities whose craft traditions have been practised and refined across generations: master weavers in Varanasi working in Gyasar, Tanchoi, and Ikat silk; gemstone carvers in Jaipur hollowing solid amethyst by hand; stonemasons in Rajasthan carving Makrana marble — the same stone used in the Taj Mahal; and weavers in Bhuj, Gujarat, practising the Bhujodi extra-weft cotton tradition. Every piece is limited edition, made in small batches, and not available in retail stores. We ship to the United States and Canada with all duties and customs fees included.
We believe that true craft is rooted in the integrity of the natural materials sourced, the skilled artisans that craft them, and the lasting value brought to both home and earth. This is reflected in our curation of rare, centuries-old techniques. Since heritage craft cannot be rushed, our limited-edition collections offer a level of craftsmanship and artistry that standard luxury retailers simply cannot replicate
Our ethos embraces slow, deliberate creation, honoring traditional techniques while fostering mindful consumption. The result is a curated selection of pieces meant to be cherished, lived with, and passed down through generations.
