Small Vessel, Great Soul

Women’s Wisdom in Clay: a craft passed down from mothers to daughters

From the women artisans of Meghalaya - guardians of standing pottery - comes this bowl, shaped with the same ancestral reverence. Without wheels or machines, they coax forest-sourced clay into expansive forms, hands moving like roots across earth. Fired in open bhatti kilns and baptized in Sohlia bark infusion, its surface emerges in organic waves of charcoal, terracotta, or smoke-gray - each hue a record of fire’s dance with forest.

“We shape small things with the same reverence as large - for in clay, there are no insignificant acts.”

  • Hand-Pinched Perfection: Thumb-formed without wheels, its curves hold the imprint of palms that know clay as kin.
  • Forest Alchemy: Fired in open bhatti kilns, then baptized in Sohlia bark infusion - gifting organic blacks, russets, or smoky grays.
  • Purposeful Scale: Designed for daily intimacy - to hold morning spices, gathered seeds, or a single bloom placed with intention.
